Ken Bryant

Founder & President

Ken Bryant, co-founder of Aerial Technologies along with his wife, Dawn Bryant, was trained in the United States Army Aviation Training Program IERW, in Fort Rucker, Alabama.  He was a Chief Warrant officer in the U.S. Army where he accumulated 4,300 hours flying UH-60 BlackHawk, AH-1 Cobra, and UH-1 Huey helicopters as well as planning and executing strategic missions.  After sixteen years of honorable service, Ken accumulated 1,100 hours as single Pilot In Command flying offshore oil operations in the Gulf of Mexico.  Ken worked in operational utility field logistics the past five years.  He was responsible for the safety of survey crews, wire line crews, and wire down crews.  He acted as a liaison between local power authorities and crews in the field.  In this capacity, he worked with National Grid Utility Company, Long Island Power Authority, Duke Energy, Encore Utilities, Oklahoma Gas and Electric, Entergy Utilities, AEP Utilities as well as along-side FEMA disaster relief teams.  He joined assessment teams in the aftermath of hurricanes, ice storms, windstorms, tornadoes and other disasters.  It was during this time that he envisioned using drones to expedite utility damage assessment and the restoration of power.   Ken’s love of aviation coupled with his experience in the utility space was the perfect combination.  Aerial Technologies was born.

Co-Founder

Our Co-founder Dawn received a post graduate Master of Human Relations degree from the University of Oklahoma.  Before co-founding Aerial Technologies, she twice secured capital funding of over one million dollars for start-up businesses in the Oklahoma City area.  Her first venture yielded more than 100% appreciation after five years.  In 2006, she and her partner built a second business in Yukon, OK for approximately one million.  In 2010, it was valued by a forensic accountant at over three million.  In both of her businesses, Dawn handled investments and diversification, marketing, and human relation issues.  She managed staff including employee hiring and termination, workman’s compensation claims, and payroll.  Prior to her partnership, she worked for a property management firm in downtown Oklahoma City.  She managed employees, negotiated contracts with property owners, supervised maintenance of thirty-three properties, as well as all payroll, quarterly tax returns, and accounts payable and receivable.  She served as a corporate officer and sat on the Board of Directors.

Brandyn worked with One Source Restoration and Storm Services providing outsourced assessment services for utility companies since 2011.  He has worked as an assessor, team lead, multiple state lead, and regional director.  In 2015 he was the state lead for the state of Arkansas for SEPCON energy.  He has worked directly with FEMA, Long Island Power Authority, Duke, AEP, Oncor, National Grid, Entergy, and OG&E.  Prior to his work in the utility industry, he was a Regional Vice President with Primerica Financial Service, the industry’s largest financial company in North America where he managed over forty agents.  In 2007 his office was rated number 1 in the state of Texas eight months consecutively and in the top 20 in the nation.  Brandyn is an integral part of the company as he brings years of field experience to our pilots and has earned an outstanding reputation with utility companies across the United States.
Scott Ratcliff

Technical Support Engineer FAA UAS/UAV Pilot

Scott Ratcliff has traveled the world working in audio/video production for over 25 years. He is a skilled videographer, photographer, audio technician and set designer. He has experience in all aspects of convention planning and enjoys research and development as well. Scott is a certified FAA UAS pilot and is also a student aircraft pilot. He holds over a dozen FEMA certifications, as well as an FCC General HAM radio license.  Scott is a huge asset to the team as he functions as our Digital Media Producer, IT Support Specialist, and Information Systems Analyst.

Strategic Advisors

Paulo Ferro, Training and Procurement
Paulo brings twenty-eight years in strategic planning, business development, and advanced UAV operations to our team.  He was the Director of International Business for AeroVironment Inc., the world’s largest producer of small-unmanned aerial systems (SUAS).  He also served as the Director of Strategic Development for General Atomics, the word’s largest producer of medium-altitude-long endurance (MALE) UAVs, where he addressed growth opportunities for both defense and commercial applications.  He is chief strategy officer for Drone USA Inc., a developer and producer of low altitude, fixed and rotary-wing UAVs in the defense, commercial, and public safety sectors. Over the years, Paulo has accomplished multiple UAV undertakings in around the globe an in the US, and has provided Aerial Technologies the guidance and the resources in choosing optimal technologies for specific mission requirements.  His extensive background is utilized in team building, selecting technology solutions, and in the planning of operations.

Gowdy Brothers Aerospace, LLC is the nation’s leader in providing consulting services and assistance to organizations, companies and individuals who are seeking to petition for an exemption to fly Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) commercially under Section 333 of the Modernization and Reform Act of 2012.  They assist with COA, LOA to air traffic control, traditional N-number aircraft registration, and amendments to add 1,120 drones and additional purposes such as motion picture, television, closed set filming and rescue operations to existing exemptions.
